Souk Criativo: A Celebration of Mozambican Art Organized by BoaCoisa
On November 1st, BoaCoisa hosted the first edition of Souk Criativo, bringing new energy and vibrancy to the artisanal kiosks at FEIMA in Maputo. With a mission to promote local creators and connect the public with Mozambique’s artistic landscape, Souk Criativo transformed the space into a lively marketplace of creativity, culture, and expression.
One of the event’s major highlights was the participation of fashion designer Chibaia. Known for his bold style and his fusion of tradition with contemporary design, Chibaia showcased pieces that captured visitors’ attention and demonstrated the growing strength of locally made fashion. His presence reinforced BoaCoisa’s commitment to giving visibility to national talent and creating experiences that celebrate Mozambican design.
The event also featured a diverse group of artisans, presenting unique creations ranging from accessories and home décor to fashion items, sustainable art, and culturally inspired handmade pieces. Each exhibitor contributed to a dynamic and inspiring atmosphere, reflecting the richness and diversity of Mozambique’s craftsmanship.
Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed a relaxed environment filled with music, food, and plenty of opportunities to interact directly with the creators. Souk Criativo not only energized FEIMA but also strengthened BoaCoisa’s role as a driving force behind initiatives that uplift local creativity and entrepreneurship.
BoaCoisa extends its gratitude to all participants and visitors who made this edition truly memorable. The success of Souk Criativo reaffirms Maputo as a vibrant hub of art, innovation, and culture — and we remain committed to creating spaces where that energy can continue to flourish.
